FAQ
How do acetylene and LPG differ for cutting steel?
Acetylene gives a hotter flame and starts cutting faster, so it suits gas welding and fine work. LPG is usually cheaper for high-volume cutting of thick steel. Choose a cutting tip that matches the gas.
Precautions?
Keep cylinders upright and firmly secured, never use acetylene above 1 bar (about 15 psi), fit flashback arrestors, and check for leaks with soapy water — never with a flame.
